Want to hear the birds again? Do you believe in this beautiful rural, low-density neighborhood, on a residential street, we shouldn’t have to deal with constant:
- PA cut-through traffic
- GPS traffic
- Speeding
- Accelerating revving engines noise
- Trucks & Trailers
- Commercial traffic not servicing the street or who don’t live here
If you’re concerned about and/or tired of the constant volume of traffic, speeding, trucks, etc. on Still Valley – this website is to open a discussion going forward, and to coordinate an effort to work with the township to finally do something about this. It’s like this now; imagine once the warehouses that no one wanted open
This is not a county road. How about we keep Still Valley for local residents, and not PA cut-through, gps traffic, commercial trucks and trailers, etc etc?
Some recent statistics taken near the bridge (speeds even higher before that):
- 1100 – 1600 vehicles per day on average (summer likely higher)
- 50% of all traffic going above 37mph
- over 100 vehicles per day going above 50mph
Here are some ideas we’ve thought of. It would be great to hear what you all think:
- Speed bumps near the top of Still Valley road on both ends
- Ordinance and signs designating Still Valley NO THRU TRAFFIC and/or ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC
- Have spoken with Google maps and found this will at least stop GPS traffic from routing through
- MUTCD 11th edition approved signs and enforceable (R11-4)
- Add more 25 mph signs, and/or speed painted on road
- No trucks and commercial traffic!! (NO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES) (R5-4) this excludes residents of the street or servicing residents on street of course
- More police enforcement
- Dead end at the train tracks?
